(7:08 PM CST) Fantasia 2000
Another holiday related release - Fantasia 2000 is going to be playing at IMAX theaters starting January 1st. It's not going to be showing at the Wortham IMAX, though - a new IMAX theater opened up just today, as part of the Edwards Cinema complex on the Katy freeway. This is a must see...

(6:20 PM CST) Merry Christmas!
Even though it's been said (many times, many ways)...Merry Christmas! =)

This is always a fun time of the year...everything just looks nice. That, and there are people EVERYWHERE...and I like it, except on the roads.

I hope you folks have a nice time this holiday, and especially for New Year's. I'm looking forward to the magical year 2000 - but mostly because Eva, Fushigi Yugi volume 2, and Escaflowne are all coming on DVD... =)

As far as New Year's goes, I'm just going to head up to Austin to celebrate A2K - Austin On The Verge with my fellow Austinites - here's a snippet about what Austin's been planning for the party of the millennium...
The A2K Millenium celebration takes place along Congress Avenue from Eleventh Street to Second Street. We invite you to take in live music on two stages at Ninth Street and Third Street. At midnight, head over to Sixth Street for a high-tech light show countdown.

The celebration is FREE to the public! A limited number of reserved seating is available for the two stages.
It just looks like a lot of fun, so if you're not doing much over New Year's and want to join us let me know. We're leaving on the 31st and heading back on the 1st, or the 2nd if we go skydiving. I can't wait... =)

(5:24 AM CST) Why is it...
...that all the interesting things happen just as rounds of tests come up? Oliver pointed out that TBS runs James Bond marathons right around finals time, without fail. While it'd be great to catch up on a series of movies I should've watched a long time ago, that's not what I'm getting annoyed at for being too interesting. Nope, this time it's stocks and taxes, and I'm just (slowly) working through the latter. I'm kicking myself for not getting into these areas back when I was earning money (or as the gov. loves to put it, receiving compensation income). I could've done more with the money than buy a palm pilot... :)

Oh well, it's fun learning. The entire issue of taxes was an alien behemoth...funny how even just a little research clarifies the world. I'd have to go with Ameritrade's slogan here, "Believe in yourself." Cheesy to an extreme, but the more I take a look around the more I'm surprised that tax advisors and full service stock brokers are hired as much as they are. That's just beginner foolishness, of course...they probably have their place somewhere.

It'd be fun if we pooled some money and invested it as a group - good way to learn.

This concludes the ramblings of a tired, up-way-too-late-for-own-good undergrad who's busy studying the wrong thing anyway...cal exam on wednesday. Oh, and stick when you're getting back to SL on the board, whenever most of you get back determines when I decide to come down...

(6:04 PM CST) Happy Thanksgiving!
Well, here it comes...prepare for the onslaught. The Christmas season is officially open for business... =)

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone...hope it's a good one, even if most of you are away from home. I'll take some pictures and put them up here, at least.

Winter break is coming up! I'm going to be pretty tired of exams by the time break comes around, so I think I'll just host a party or something when we're all back. I'd love to go somewhere over the break, but plans keep changing. I hope something comes through. Otherwise some of us can just go hang out in Austin, after all, there's free lodging via Tonia's room and mine at the woo... =)

Just a thought...
