(April + 5 hours, 11 minutes CDT) Picturefest updates
I made a few little updates around the site (and had a lot of fun doing them =). So, I'm happy to officially (again) declare it ready for public consumption! It was ready before, yes, but I didn't have the idea for the characters until afterwards (the Eva gang up in the corners).

So, here's what you ought to know before you head in there...

1. My friends from Eva helped me show you guys exactly how we felt about some of these pictures. So don't forget to look at who's up there...and if Asuka's yelling at you, so am I! =)

2. You're probably best off clicking on the first picture in each category - then move forward with the buttons. If you really want to abort, click the up arrow and you'll be back at the thumbnails.

3. This site is totally for you guys, so if you want some specific pictures up, come up with some great captions to add on to certain pics, or whatever, just drop me a message on ICQ. I'll change it.

4. HAVE FUN!!! =)

Curious about the specs? Picturefest is a 22.6 MB monstrosity, with 1,045 files including 360 HTML files (hand-coded, of course :) - and consumed somewhere around 38 hours over the course of 6 days. I love projects. =)

(5:49 PM CDT) Hallelujah!
FINALLY finished.

My official project for the last week has been working on the picture site.

It's done.

I've put up most of what I have. If you were on the Colorado trip, please take note of the pictures that you want. We'll be getting together once we're all back in Sugar Land and figure out how to distribute them, since I still have most of everybody's pictures.

If you have more pictures from any of the things in the site, and want them to be put up, ICQ me. I'm especially looking for more pics from the New Year's Party - somebody get in touch with Helen, I know that she took several of the specific part of the party that I need pictures of. =)

Umm...what else...oh, I have a couple more Colorado pics to put up, because I found a hidden envelope under a stack of papers in my drawer. When I recharge from this I'll scan 'em.

That's about it. Go on over there already.

(2:37 PM CDT) Duel Of The Fates - Fixed
The original version of the single had a lot of crackling and misc noise, so I tried to filter out as much of it as I could...here's the new version - I have to listen to it some more, but while it's a good track, it's not overly impressive. I'm hoping the movie doesn't hit me the same way...or the camping out for tickets will go to waste.

Yup...considering it, just for the experience... =)

(8:26 PM CDT) Phantom Menace Soundtrack Single
Gotta love the net (and by the same token, hate the RIAA). The first single from Phantom Menace is out for download. No, not LucasFilm approved...so if you download this you're sworn to kill yourself right after you listen to it to appease copyrights.

If you can't download files with spaces in them, first of all, get a new browser, or download this version.

(7:49 PM CDT) Red Hat 6.0
Whoa...busy enough on something else that I didn't catch this - Red Hat got around to releasing 6.0 - they're including GNOME and KDE in this release, along with the 2.2 kernel. Sounds good.

(2:20 PM CST) About frickin' time...
Remember all that stuff about some International Space Station or some other such nonsense? (Huh, what? Countries working together? Insanity!) - Russia FINALLY held up their end of the bargain and finished up the ISS' service module. You know, the living quarters...just one of those little details that might make the heaps of plastic and metal already up there usable. Five more months of tests and the first crew should go up in November. At least they're doing it before 2000...

Speaking of space - wow. You just need to read this one for yourselves. You'll like.

(1:43 PM CST) Misc software stuff
Just a few things that I've been meaning to post for a while but kept on forgetting about. Microsoft secretly updated Internet Explorer 5 around April 5, so if you downloaded it before then you'll want to delete the installation you have and download and install this version instead. If you're not sure, open up IE5 -> Help -> About. If it says anything besides 5.00.2314.1003, you've got an old version with misc bugs. Oh, and the download is the complete package for IE5, for both Windows 98 and Windows NT 4 - around 54 megs.

Windows Media Player was updated, too - on April 12th. It's at 6.2 beta right now...this is the nice little program that you should be playing your MPEG's with. Download if you wish... (2.02MB)

Notice anything different about today's entry?

(7:26 PM CST) LOL!

(3:08 PM CST) Speaking of new things...
Windows 98 SE has gone final, so everyone fire up mIRC and Hotline and try to find it. It might be called a couple of different things - Windows 98 SE RC3, Windows 98 SE Build 2222...it's all the same. Wonder if I can get it by the end of the day...

(2:28 PM CST) Damn flurries...
These cycles are just strange. First one I noticed was at New Dimensions, every Sunday. Sit around for a while with nothing to do, and have to resort to suffering the internet through an ISDN line (okay, I was pretty damn happy at the time with that :) ... and 5 minutes later, there would be 4 customers milling around, all with questions that take a 20 minutes to answer (Yes, sir...you plug it in...uh-huh...yes, you do need to have a computer to be on the internet..that's right...yes, I made the same mistake when I was starting out...uh-huh....yup...) - and both phone lines ringing in the background. An hour later, the storm's passed and all is boredom again. Now it's cars and websites - if you haven't been keeping up, or you're not in the loop (haha :P), Louis, George, and Nasser all got new cars, and now Nasser and Terrel put up their own contributions to this cheap imitation of a public bathroom stall we call the internet. Both good sites, let's see if they can resist the urge to not update...

(2:49 AM CST) Windows 98 SE
Okay, RC2 is out - build 2185. Anybody have it? Oh, and this release might be the final release, if testers don't find any major bugs...so let's see how fast we can get the final release of this, and how many weeks before it gets in stores.

(2:38 AM CST) Top 10 reasons why you should be worried about Star Wars
