"When love beckons to you follow him,
Though his ways are hard and steep.
And when his wings enfold you yield to him,
Though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you.
And when he speaks to you believe in him,
Though his voice may shatter your dreams as the north wind lays waste the garden.
For even as love crowns you so shall he crucify you. Even as he is for your growth so is
                 he for your pruning.
Even as he ascends to your height and caresses your tenderest branches that quiver in
                 the sun,
So shall he descend to your roots and shake them in their clinging to the earth.'

Okay, okay, so it's been little while since I updated, but it's HARD being a sophomore transfer to the School of Foreign Service. And well, there was also this BOY and Homecoming...  but I'll be much, much better from now on. I promise! I can't believe my birthday is in four days. Eighteen has been a good year, a year of steady growth and a healing of those ugly scars left over from seventeen. I still feel like a naive little girl sometimes, though. I wonder if that ever goes away. I twisted my ankle last night which means I get to hobble around campus looking pitiful.

And it has begun. I promise, honest to goodness, that this is the last time until Midterms that I complain about work, but there's so much of it! I shall be very, very happy when Christmas Break rolls around and I've taken my last final (which by the way is the 17th). Steve's site is slowly coming back up... I highly recommend it, although the content is occasionally obnoxious... : )
Okay, back to my philosophy paper. ::sigh::

The new site index and birthday page are up! Just click on The Garden graphic at the top of the page. I also wanted to wish Andrew luck as he embarks on his new career as member of the crew team. Being on the crew team garners MAJOR points in the realm of attractiveness, and so I'm sure he's going to be beating a path back to the Woo through swarms of groupies. That's GOT to be worth waking up at 4 o'clock in the morning. : )
Good Luck Andrew!

Welcome to the all new edition of The Garden, now in it's second year, or is it third? Well, who really keeps track of these things? Obviously, not me. It's rainy Saturday afternoon and my roommate is out on an Escape program for transfers to meet each other. She's in the College, so she can gad about and do these things. I, on the other hand, as a soon to be alumni of the Foreign Service School, have mountains of work which I am currently assiduously avoiding. So here I am. At Georgetown. Alone with my thoughts and the grey and brown framed in my window. But surprisingly, I'm okay. Admittedly, I hate being new again. Normally, I like nothing better than the familiar pattern of faces I know and places I love, (thus, the reason I love Sugar Land so much) but I can see myself being happy here. My roommate is nice, my classes are challenging, and I have three day weekends in which to visit around the Northeast. I miss everyone terribly, and I wish I could be back in Sugar Land, but well, I'll get over it. And then I WILL be back for Christmas. So Hoya Saxa. And I hope all of you have a wonderful sophomore year!
